Land located thirteen miles west of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, owned by George John Lowell and farmed by his oldest son, George James Lowell, from the mid 1950s until the late 1960s. This album contains a variety of photographs and documents that focus on The Farm.

When George John Lowell and George James Lowell began to farm the land rather than renting it out, there were large numbers of rocks that needed to be removed, many requiring sticks of dynamite to get them out of the ground. Over 100 sticks of dynamite were lit during the first year of farming in order to remove large rocks imbedded in the fields. This rock is still in the process of being dynamited into smaller pieces so that they can then be removed to the stone pile.
