  Notes	From the Argus Leader (Sioux Falls, South Dakota) 27 Jun 1890, Fri.: "Will be Admitted at Yankton. Sheriff Sundback this morning received a telegram to the effect that Mrs. Amelia Johnson, yesterday declared insane, would be admitted to the asylum. The sheriff, accompanied by a chaperone, will leave for Yankton on the Milwaukee at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Mrs. Johnson's children have been sent to the poor farm, where they will remain until other arrangements can be made for their care. Since the woman has been at the jail her conduct has been violent." At the time of the U.S. Federal 1900 Census, Amelia is a patient at the South Dakota Hospital for the Insane, in Yankton, South Dakota.
