  Notes	#29 in Richard Lowell line in Delmar Lowell’s Historic Genealogy. Perhaps m. 2nd Joanna Richards, b. March 16, 1719, of Boston, Mass. In 1737, he removed to Falmouth, Me., now Portland, and settled upon Clark's Point, land given him by his father. He re. the rest of his life in the same place and d. there, being drowned within sight of his home. He was a "mariner" and lived at Portland, Cumberland, Maine. He was in a company stationed in Fort Pemaquid in one of the Indian Wars. May 26, 1747, being out with a party of 15, they were ambushed, 10 being killed and 3 captured. He was badly wounded in the wrist, but escaped, and saved the boy, Ezekiel Webb, who was with him. By the skillful nursing of a good motherly neighbor, his hand was saved for ornament, though ever after useless.
