Obituary: The Boston Globe (Boston, Massachusetts) 29 Apr 1929, Mon.
      "MRS. CHARLES F. HOLBROOK"
Mrs. Annie Bradbury Holbrook, widow of Rev. Charles F. Holbrook, late of Danvers, died at 4:30 p.m. yesterday at her home, 52 Kirkland St., Cambridge. She was born in Chesterville, Me, daugher of Capt. Benjamin Burbank Bradbury and Elizabeth (Lowell) Bradbury, and was descended from prominent early settlers of New England, including Thomas Bradbury, cousin and agent of Sir Ferdinando Gorges in the settlement of his province of Maine; Rev. John Cotton of Boston and Percival Lowle. Her education was in the schools of Bangor, Me, in Mt. Holyoke Seminary and in Charlestown (Mass) Female Seminary, of which her sister, Miss Hannah E. Bradbury, later wife of George C. Goodwin of Boston, was principal.
She taught successively in Charlestown Seminary, in a private school in Wheeling W Va, and in Worcester Academy, where she met Mr. Holbrook. She was a great aid to him in his pastorates in Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.
While living in Danvers she was for several years vice president of the Danvers Women's Association and later was for eight years vice president of the Salem Women's Club. She had a talent in versifying that pleased her many friends. In spite of her advanced years, she kept breast of the latest developments in religious and political thought, and was an inspiration to many of the younger generations.
She is survived by two sons, Benjamin P. Holbrook of the Globe news desk and Bradbury Holbrook, MD, of Waltham, and a daughter, Miss Elizabeth L. Holbook. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at 52 Kirkland st. Cambridge."
