    • “WILLIAM HEATON, husbandman, ws baptized at Habrough, Lincolnshire, 31 July 1567, and buried at Limber Magna, Lincolnshire, 5 July 1616. He married at Habrough, 12 November 1592, ELIZABETH SEDGWICK, who was baptized at Riby, Lincolnshire, 24 February 1569/70, and buried at Limber Magna 3 March 1649/50, daughter of Francis and Joan (_____) Sedgwick of Limber Magna. The widow Elizabeth, aged 48 years, married second, by license dated 23 May 1617 at St. Paul’s in the Baile, Lincoln, William Greene, widower, of Nettleton, yeoman.
      His uncle James in his 1571 will left to William Heaton his share of £7 owed by his father. From his father’s 1588 will, William received the lease of “Phillopsonnes land,” a grey mare and riding equipment. From his uncle Edward Heaton’s 1591 will, he received his uncle’s best blue coat.
      Elizabeth was named administratrix of her mother’s estate in 1611. William signed his name to her bond, which stated that Elizabeth would “faythfullie & trulie [administer] the goods & Chatels of Joane S[edgwicke, late of] great limber in the Countie of L[incoln],” exhibit a true and perfect inventory, pay her debts and legacies, and exhibit an accounting of the administration. The inventory, taken by Jo[hn] helmes James Elson, J[ohn] hanson, & James Cha[mberlain] on 25 April and exhibited 10 May 1611, totaled 19£, 14s 4d, including her purse and apparel, bedding, table and table linen, chairs, cushions, chests, a pewter basin and ewer and candlesticks, a brass pot and two little pans, and eight sheep. There was a debt “owinge to the said Jany Sedgwicke” from Willm Scott of Killingholme.
      William Heaton was churchwarden of the parish of Habrough in 1594 and in Limber Magna in 1608 and in 1616, the year he died. Administration on the good and chattels of William Heaton, late of Limber Magna, deceased was granted to the widow Elizabeth Heaton, before Mr. Thomas Barcrofte, clerk, vicar of the church of Limber Magna. Elizabeth signed her mark to the bond 27 July 1616, promising to administer the goods of William Heaton late of Great Limber [Limber Magna] her husband to “distribute to and amoungste the naturall & lawfull children of the said Willm Heaton deceased.” Fellow bondsmen were William Greene of Nettleton, yeoman, Robert Wilkinson of Nettleton, yeoman, John Wilkerson of Nettleton, yeoman, and Miles Fisheher of Caistor, baker, for £400. Another bond of £600 was given by Thomas Fatherbie of Great Coat gentleman, George Milon (?) of Habrough, yeoman, and Edward Scare (?) of Limber, blacksmith, the same day. An inventory of the goods & chatells of William Heaton of Great Limber husbandman was made by Will Elston, Will Hall, John Tennye, and Richard Wakelyn on 10 July 1616 totaled £292, 9 2d, including debts owing to him from Jo BEnnet and Jo Hardson, was accepted 20 July 1616.”«s85» [1]
