They met each other in South Dakota and got married there, probably in 1906. Eight years later, they left America and arrived in Vik with five children. Perhaps Emil and Gurine decided on going home in 1910. Then Emil’s parents divided the farm and they settled on the part that they bought. They undid the division and the deed was registered in 1919. Myrland is on the south side of #9 and was originally the most northen part of a large area outside the #8 farm.
