- From "The Mortimer Family of Wigmore: An outline lineage" by Ian Mortimer, Version 3.0, 16 June 2016:
"Roger Mortimer (1393-1413?). He was born at Netherton and was kept in custody with his older brother at Windsor Castle, Berkhamsted Castle and Pevensey Castle during the reign of Henry IV. An attempt to spring the boys from Wiindsor in 1405 and to take them to Wales was only briefly successful. He was released from captivity in 1413 and knighted at the coronation of Henry V; but nothing more is known of him; it is presumed he died shortly afterwards."
